The brown hare has a long history throughout the whole Cotswold area. You will find it represented in place names such as Haresfield and Harescombe. From Roman mosaics and Saxon carvings, the hare is an historical symbol of the Cotswolds. The Nailsworth town is hand painted within this artwork and the A46 travels up the length of the hare’s ear, heading onwards to Stroud.
